Canine Welfare Centre

Welbro were engaged to design & build a brand new Canine Welfare Centre for the hard-working guard dogs protecting a military establishment in the Falkland Islands.

Welbro was the main contractor for this new-build project, responsible for everything from the floor slab to the ridge flashings. The building provides living space for the guard dogs when they are off duty, in addition to welfare and medical facilities under one roof.

Welbro incorporated a grey-water tank and retrieval system in the design to save water when cleaning the centre. The project took seven months to complete. It was well-received, considered a world-class animal welfare facility and even got a mention of the local radio station.
